Simon Childs is a Board Advisor to the International Recruitment Business. His responsibilities include learning & development, oversight of the regional industry practices, strategic partner alliances, and the internal hiring of senior level executive talent in Asia for group companies.
He co-founded CDS, a Tokyo based executive search firm, which he later sold to Recruit Holdings in January, 2008. He was listed in Business Week as one of the World's Top 100 Head-hunters in an article published in January, 2009.
He moved to Hong Kong in January 2010 and spent several years building a start-up business for RGF, as well as developing the relationship with Bó Lè Associates; now an RGF group company. He also lived for a year in Mumbai, building RGF offices and facilitating the integration of one of the India's largest and most successful high-end, executive search businesses.
Simon's early career in Asia was spent with the Royal Hong Kong Police, where he worked as a Detective Senior Inspector in the Commercial Crime Bureau as well as a Team Leader in the VIP Protection unit. He has also worked as an Operations Manager for a Hong Kong based export business, where he focused on opening new offices and managing supply and quality issues across Southern China and Indonesia.
He is originally from England. He has a B.A. in History from the University of East Anglia and post graduate qualifications in Leadership from Oxford University, Cornell University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
In his free time, he trains for endurance events. He has participated in numerous marathons, triathlons and long distance treks.
